WHERE TO GO AND WHAT TO DO...
Any beach resort worth its salt will provide watersports, areas of outstanding natural beauty will offer hiking and other outdoor activities and areas of historical interest will provide excursions to ruins and other ancient sites.

Turkey’s position as the crossroads between east and west makes it truly unique. Viewed by many as the cradle of civilisation its unique position and geography has created a rich cultural and natural heritage.

The Ovacik/Hisaronu/Oludeniz/Fethiye area provides access to what is arguably one of the widest range of activities, excursions, sites of natural and historical beauty that you are likely to find anywhere in the world.

Here are just a few of the things that you and your partner, friends and family could do whilst enjoying your holiday in Turkey.

The area is beautiful and popular with walkers as the village marks the start of the Lycian Way. A walk referred to by the Sunday Times as being one of the 10 greatest long distance hikes in the world!

For those not quite up to the full 509km the first few kilometres offer beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

Other areas of interest include a multitude of sites of both historical and natural interest. Excursions available include the Dalyan River and its famous mud baths, Caunos Rock Tombs, the deserted ‘Ghost Village’ of KayaKoy, Butterfly valley, ancient city of Xanthos, Patara beach (home to the protected carreta carreta or Loggerhead Turtle) with its 18 km of beautiful white sand, Kas, Kalkan, the ancient fortress of Tlos and Saklikent Gorge to name but a few. Trips further afield include Ephesus, Pamukkale, Cappadocia and even day trips to Rhodes.

Activities available include boat trips, jeep safaris, coach tours, horse riding, microlight flights, guided walks, scuba diving (learner and advanced), mountain biking, quad bike safaris, canoeing or alternatively a relaxing ‘Hamam’ or Turkish bath. Some of the activities available offer a real alternative to anything that you can find anywhere else in the Mediterranean in the form of paragliding and white water rafting. If you have the nerve these are absolute musts!

There is of course the option of purely enjoying the beautiful scenery by relaxing by the pool, chilling out on the beach or settling down with a beer or glass of wine to watch the sun go down.
